Our house doesn't have a dining area really at all. I decided to create a space with our dining table along the wall on the backside of the living room closest to the kitchen. It works, but honestly, I've never loved it. I'm including a couple of pictures of the current state the space. I made this bench at one point for temporary seating and have always had mis-matched chairs.
The table was left by the previous tenants and the owner said we were welcome to it. I have a love/hate relationship with the table. I love the length of it, the harvest table feels it brings; but I hate the color. It's a yellow-y orange and it clashes with every other color of wood in our home.
Below is a sort of mood board that brings together the thoughts I have for this space. I would love to find 4 matching chairs and add some texture through a couple of fabric chairs on each end. I love the idea of refinishing the table...I just am unsure of that process. I would have to do some research. I also love the look of mixed prints. It definitely brings that cozy cottage feel.
I also love the thought of vintage art and a couple of sconces above the table to ground it to that space.
I have included a few inspo pictures that I keep eyeing on Pinterest! They're so good.
The woven chairs, the mixed patterns, the simplicity of it all. I love this!
This table and these chairs--perfection.
I love the mix of seating here! The velvet antique armchair with the woven chairs and the bench, it feels so inviting!
When discussing cozy cottage feel, you must include Liz Marie Galvan in the mix! I love the mixed patterns here. Complimenting the tone of the room and balancing one another perfectly!
That's my vision all sprawled out here for you! I will be sharing updates as they come and of course updating on Instagram regularly so follow me there!
Thanks for stopping by today!
